Affinity & Chromatography Media

Chemical affinity can be defined as electronic properties by which dissimilar chemical species are capable of forming chemical compounds. Chemical affinity can also refer to the tendency of an atom or compound to combine by chemical reaction with atoms or compounds of unlike composition. For example, N-5-Carboxypentyl-1-deoxynojirimycin is a Ligand used for the preparation of an affinity resin highly specific for glucosidase I purification. Glucosidase I is involved in the post-translational processing of N-linked glycoproteins.
