Binds covalently to proton pump. It inhibits gastric secretion. Used as an antiulcerative. Clinically it is used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease, reverse flow esophagitis, Zollinger - Ellison syndrome, eradication of helicobacter pylori (HP) and it has made the satisfactory curative effect.
